EVERY quilter, whether you own a longarm, shortarm, or domestic sewing machine, or do hand quilting, needs to at LEAST take a look at this program. Pre-Design Studio (PDS) is a vector drawing software that allows the user to trace, create and/or resize a design that can either be printed out as a panto, a drop-in block, border, corner, etc, or imported as a .dxf into a computerized quilting system to be quilted out. You can sue your printout to create a stencil for marking your work if this is your preference. Inspiration is available everywhere – import clipart or a line drawing, scan a photo, napkin or piece of wall paper – and turn it into a quilting pattern. Import, then trace a design you own and print it out in whatever size you need for your particular application. This class will demonstrate how to use the software to turn your ideas into a continuous line design use as quilt blocks or motifs, pantos, etc. NO prior drawing experience is required…nor artistic aptitude!! The software is VERY easy to learn. Additionally, this software can be used to create your own embroidery designs such as red work that will be imported into your machines embroidery digitizing software.
